1. Prepare your products
Start with a simple spreadsheet: product name, short description, price, variants such as size or colour, and stock. Good photos on a plain background make a bigger difference to sales than almost anything else. With 20 products you can do this in an afternoon; for hundreds, plan a few days.
2. Choose how customers pay
Shoppers in Latvia expect to pay by card and by bank link (Swedbank, SEB, Citadele, Luminor). Payment providers such as Stripe, Paysera or Montonio cover these with one integration. They usually charge a small fee per payment, often with no monthly fee, so compare the fee and how fast the money reaches your account.
3. Plan delivery
Most online shoppers in Latvia collect parcels from a parcel locker. Offer at least one locker network (such as Omniva or DPD) and courier delivery for larger items. Decide on clear delivery prices and times before launch and show them on every product page, because unexpected delivery costs are the most common reason people leave at checkout.
4. Cover the legal basics
- Terms of sale with your company details, prices including VAT and delivery terms.
- The 14-day right of withdrawal that EU shoppers have for most online purchases, and how returns work.
- A privacy policy and a cookie banner that asks before tracking (GDPR).
- If you sell food, cosmetics or other regulated goods, check what registration you need, for example with the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD).
This is general information, not legal advice; an accountant or lawyer can confirm what applies to your business.
5. Build the shop
Your shop should load fast on a phone, make products easy to find and keep checkout to as few steps as possible. Those three things matter more than any special effect.
Our e-shops start at €400 for up to 50 products, with €790 and €1,490 levels for bigger catalogues, and usually take 2–6 weeks to build.
6. Get your first customers
- Set up a Google Business Profile and link it to your shop.
- Give every product a clear title and description; that is what Google shows.
- Tell your existing customers, on social media and in person.
- Ask your first buyers for a review.
